June 10 — KEEP YOUR HANDS OUT OF MY POCKET, Sonny Boy Williamson II (1958)

IMG_1874Wednesday’s post about studio chatter has kept my mind searching for other examples this week. One of the more notorious studio chatterboxes has to be blues legend Sonny Boy Williamson, born and buried near Tutwiler, Mississippi.

Sonny Boy was a renowned harmonica player but an equally impressive talker and cusser. His catalog gives the impression that he never stopped — that between songs, the studio musicians, tired of waiting for him to quit talking, would simply roll into the next song.
