April 24 — MY SWEET LORD, George Harrison (1970)

IMG_1796Spend any time reading and learning about popular music, and it doesn’t take long to see road signs of the Beatles. Sometimes, they’re everywhere.

The “most memorable moments in Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame induction history” was the subject of a Rolling Stone podcast this morning — including Prince’s wailing guitar solo on “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”

Later in the day I saw a note about writer Rob Sheffield’s upcoming book “Dreaming the Beatles.” And on my evening walk with Charlie, I listened to a podcast from Chicago asking musicians the age-old question, “What would be on your desert island jukebox?” Moby cited “Let It Be,” while Bob Mould listed the “Revolver” album.

My own jukebox would have to be pretty hefty. (If we’re talking jukeboxes on deserted islands, why not go big?) This would definitely be on it, no matter how big or small. My sweet George.
