When Josh Holliday returned to coach baseball at his alma mater, Oklahoma State, he did so under heavy expectations — that he would return the program to glory. It didn’t take long. Today, four years into his tenure, the Cowboys punched their ticket to Omaha and the College World Series. OSU was a regular in Omaha during the 1980s, but this is its first trip since 1999 — the year Paul Jeannotte and I started our annual pilgrimage, when Holliday himself was the team catcher.
