There’s a faint buzz in music circles about a noisy roots-rock band from Baltimore called Western Star, which cites Thin Lizzy as a primary influence. As is often the case, one listen sent me to the source of inspiration itself. In retrospect, Thin Lizzy probably didn’t get the accolades or commercial success it deserved. This is muscular, classic ’70s rock at its Trans Am finest. And, nearly 40 years ago, this was the music being played on the house system while I awaited the start of my first ever concert, Kiss, at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.
