LOST IN THE NOISE

December 18 — THE OTHER END (OF THE TELESCOPE), ‘Til Tuesday (1988)

img_1679The Grapes of Wrath came on the Loft this morning while en route to Tulsa, which for the remainder of the day sent me on a trail called “Cassettes I Owned in the Late ’80s” — House of Freaks, Dead Milkmen, the Go-Betweens, Crowded House. And this, ‘Til Tuesday’s third and final album, also its least commercial and most critically acclaimed. I took notice in the fall of ’89 while living in Minneapolis, when homesickness was setting in and the sweet, sad mood of this album was the perfect tonic.
