December 2 — YOUNG LUST, Pink Floyd (1979)

img_1694A lot can happen to popular music over a decade. Take yesterday’s Song of the Day, for instance — a sappy sing-along by a feathered-hair family in a flower-power bus. After that, the soft rock movement (Bread, Jim Croce), arena rock (Kiss, Zeppelin), disco (Donna aSummer, Bee Gees), punk (Ramones, Sex Pistols), outlaw country (Waylon, Willie, the introduction to New Wave (Cars, Blondie), and this, which came out this week in 1979, my junior year, and sailed right over my head.
