This morning’s Houston Half Marathon was canceled because of heavy rain and flooding. Although I was disappointed not to put all those miles to use, I was relieved not to be sploshing through ankle-deep water and blowing rain for 13 miles and two hours.
This afternoon the rain eased just long enough to get me out the door for a three-miler. Halfway through, the hard rain came again, but I was glad to be out. “I’m a face without a name / Just walking in the rain / Goin’ back to Houston, Houston, Houston.”
