After seeing two or three posts about Bob Mould today, I feared something had happened. Looking him up on Wiki, in the first sentence I saw his date of birth and no date of death, so I went on my way. But on the way back from Tulsa, I turned first to his solo music, and then to Husker Du, that wall of energy and buzz-saws that helped define Minneapolis in the ’80s. From now through mid November, my work schedule appears insane — travel, presentations, performance reviews, budgeting. So the central message to this song was exactly the reminder I needed: “If you don’t stop and smell the roses, they might end up on you.” Thanks, Bob.
