September 17 — FINGERNAIL MOON, The Jayhawks (1989)

3856F898-D552-4E37-897D-EF4635EB180EThis song comes to mind every time there’s a sliver of moon in the sky. With the Byrds-like guitar jangle and bouncy chorus, it’s quintessential Jayhawks. Tonight while driving back to David’s after dinner in Santa Fe, after a lengthy discussion — “without the lights, I can see the stars” — I finally introduced this gem to Lauren and Luke.
