LOST IN THE NOISE

May 17 — RAMBLIN’ ON MY MIND, Lucinda Williams (1978)

imageIf Robert Johnson is the primary thoroughfare to Delta blues in the 1930s, Lucinda Williams is the roadway to the present. Her “Car Wheels on a Gravel Road” served as inspiration and a launching point for my 2000 pilgrammage. Her music, including this Robert Johnson cover, was featured prominently in the mix tapes I made for that trip.
