March 16 — BROTHERS IN ARMS, Dire Straits (1985)

imageThis song has been quietly following me around since I heard it on Vin Scelsa’s show earlier this week, a ghostly, surreal song that my friend Paul Jeannotte says comes to mind when he’s at Arlington National Cemetary.  Maybe Gary Sinise’s talk earlier this week planted this song in my head. Too often, war is discussed in the context of politics or national security; to those who are watching their brethren die and be changed forever, it’s far more.
