LOST IN THE NOISE

December 30 — HOLD ONTO YOUR HAT, Rolling Stones (1989)

imageYesterday’s Vikings-Lions game in Minneapolis was the last event at the Metrodome before it’s torn down. I’ve seen a handful of greats there — Kirby Puckett, Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders.

But the most memorable is the Rolling Stones’ “Steel Wheels” tour in 1989. Deciding whether to go, I remember thinking two things: (1) These $35 floor seats are sure expensive and (2) these guys are getting old; better see them while I can. Twenty-four years later, they’re still at it. No telling what a ticket costs.
