December 23 — LAST DATE, Floyd Cramer (1960)

imageArriving 10 minutes early to a meeting today, I had just heard Jim Lauderdale’s version of “Glass House.” The piano part was wistful and familiar — obviously a decsendant of the late ’50s, early ’60s school of countrypolitan, a la Gentleman Jim Reeves, Eddy Arnold and the pioneer of “the Nashville sound” and the “slip note,” Floyd Cramer.
